Literary journalism is a writing system: that is expressed through prospectively, voices and experiences. It tends to overlap with a memoir only, because a memoir is based on personal experiences. Ted Conover is a perfect example; he dropped out of school and rode the trains with hoboes. Out of this event he made a book. But what I want to know is, why Literary Journalism is being compared to a fiction book? My guess is because not all events that are written are true. In today’s society we are more opinionated about politics more than anything else. So when news breaks of a senator having an affair, everyone jumps on the ban wagon. It maybe exaggerated to make to sell more copies, but at the end of the day it all boils down to money.
